Google is set to take the wraps off its aone-based cloud computing platform that promises to deliver “one of the largest cloud computing deployments ever,” according to the company’s chief technology officer.
“We’re excited about the potential of cloud computing,” said Mark Zuckerberg.
“It’s not just about making our data more accessible to the world.
It’s also about empowering people to be more productive.”
The platform will be available in three distinct tiers, starting with “sustainable cloud” in which Google’s servers are “always running and running” in the cloud.
Google says it will then be able to deploy “a super-high performance and low latency cloud,” which will allow users to work remotely from anywhere.
“If you’re in the US and want to be productive in your office or home, you can be productive anywhere on the planet,” Zuckerberg said.
“That’s what we think is so important.”
The cloud’s power is expected to extend to all types of content, including books, videos, music, and more.
It will also be able “to power the next generation of smart devices.”
Zuckerberg says a single cloud platform can be scaled up or down depending on the need of the company.
For example, if Google wants to deliver its own mobile app, it can scale up the cloud’s cloud computing capabilities, but if it wants to build out a web application, it’ll need to scale back.
“Ultimately, the best cloud is one that is always running and working,” Zuckerberg explained.
“So you can’t do the same thing on a mobile app and a web app at the same time.
So we think the key to the success of aone is scale.
That means the right amount of scale, the right mix of scale and a right balance of scale.”
As part of the launch, Zuckerberg said aone will be used in all kinds of environments.
The company will be offering a “one-stop shop” for software and hardware developers, with all the necessary APIs to build on top of the cloud platform.
Aone is also being built by Amazon and Google, and will allow Google to scale the cloud to new customers, including the Amazon Web Services team.
Google’s cloud-powered computing platform has a number of other exciting features.
One of the most exciting is a “zero-touch” app management system that will let developers quickly and easily share data between their applications.
The system will let users manage applications from the cloud and from the app store.
The team is also working on a “platform for enterprise applications” to let developers “provide more value to users by allowing them to work from anywhere,” and “give them control of their own workloads.”
Google’s “open source cloud” is also getting its own product called “Project Zero,” which promises to offer a “faster, more secure, more reliable and scalable way to manage applications across the Internet of Things.”
Project Zero will be able run on Amazon EC2 and Microsoft Azure.
The platform is currently under development and expected to ship in 2018.
Google is also reportedly working on an “open network” that will enable its users to access the cloud at the touch of a button, and to share their data between multiple devices on the same network.
“The openness of the network will allow for more collaboration between apps and the cloud,” Zuckerberg added.
Google will also provide cloud services for enterprises to use to provide their own cloud-based services.
“This is the cloud that everyone wants to be able access,” Zuckerberg concluded.
“When you connect your devices together, you get a unified experience that allows you to do things like access your calendar from your phone and do all kinds a business can do.”
